How to cook sea scallops?

Here how you can cook scallops that are already frozen in these three ways:

1. Thawing

If the scallops are in a shell, open it up, then clean. Put it back in the fridge for 24hours before using. After that put in cold water for an hour. Make sure water doesn’t get inside! Now, you can cook and enjoy your scallops!

2. Seared Scallops

Dry the scallops to prevent shrinking. Add seasoning, then fry over pre-heated oil. Cook for 2-3 minutes, serve hot!

3. Baked Scallops

Preheat your oven then add melted butter into an oven-safe dish. Mix the scallops with it and add other ingredients of choice. Bake for 20 minutes.

Are frozen scallops as good a fresh?

Frozen scallops can be as good as fresh if it is a good IQF (individually quick frozen) scallop. Compared to a “fresh” supermarket scallop that is five days old or even more, frozen scallop would be better and healthier.
